Earlier,
the fire service reported that two helicopters collided while extinguishing a
fire in the capital region of Attica, reported by ria.ru.
"There
were four people on board the two helicopters, two of whom were Greek citizens
and two were foreign nationals. Two passengers were found alive and another two
dead," the department's statement, published by the "Proto
Thema" newspaper.
According
to the newspaper report, human error is preliminarily suspected to have caused
the crash. The wreckage of the helicopters was found in a deep ravine. The victims
were the crew members of one of the helicopters; each helicopter had two people
on board—the pilots were Romanian citizens, and the coordinators were Greek
citizens.
