As the Report reports with reference to the administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the launch took place on October 1 from the Vandenberg base in the US state of California using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle from SpaceX.
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov attended the launch ceremony as part of his working visit to the United States. The satellite was launched into orbit along with a group of another spacecraft. It will be managed from the center in Bishkek.
The satellite is designed to monitor agricultural lands, glaciers, water bodies, forests and pastures, as well as monitor changes in natural ecosystems. Its data is planned to be used to identify illegal use of mineral resources, unauthorized landfills and other sources of pollution.
In addition, satellite data will be used to monitor natural hazards, including droughts, floods, landslides, mudslides and forest fires. The presidential administration noted that this would make it possible to identify potential threats faster and take measures to reduce possible damage.
