The Italian
specialist noted the following key points:
"We
are seriously preparing for the World Cup and we are working very hard.
Everyone is looking forward to the start of the World Cup.
After my
appointment, we, together with the coaching staff, closely monitored all the
players. If someone hasn't received a call-up to the national team, it means
they haven't been able to fully convince me with their performance yet. Now we
are paying special attention to the physical readiness of the team.
We tried to
find the strongest and most competitive opponents for friendly matches. Canada,
as the host of the competition, will certainly create an atmosphere of football
at the highest level. The Netherlands is one of the strongest teams in Europe.
Their style of play and tactical approach are somewhat similar to the
Portuguese national team.
For
example, Jaloliddin Masharipov has tremendous experience. If he gets into
optimal shape, he will be able to bring great benefits to the national team at
the World Cup. Abbosbek Fayzullayev recently scored a goal, and his hard work
and combative character have long been the hallmark of the player. Besides,
Abdukodir Khusanov and Eldor Shomurodov are in excellent shape right now.
The most
important thing is our first World Cup. Therefore, it is important not to
create unnecessary pressure for the players, but, on the contrary, to allow
them to enjoy the game. I am sure that our team will do everything possible to
represent Uzbekistan at the World Cup with honor.
Our group
at the Asian Cup, which will be held in January, turned out to be very
interesting and strong. Every match will be a serious challenge for us and will
require maximum concentration and preparation.
One of my
main ambitions is to win the Asian Cup. We will make every effort to achieve
this goal. If the World Cup becomes a platform for us to gain experience, then
at the Asian Cup we will already be fighting for the result."
Also,
during the press conference Ravshan Irmatov presented the plan of preparation
of the national team for the World Cup.
