The
archaeological excavations are carried out by researchers from the Samarkand
Archaeological Institute named after Yahya Gulyamov - Amriddin Berdimurodov,
Husniddin Rakhmonov and Nigora Makhkamova.
As a result
of the excavations, the architectural structure of the palace complex located
in the citadel (Ark) of the settlement and dating back to the first half of the
8th century AD has been revealed.
According
to experts, the features of the construction machinery and architectural
solutions of the complex are an important scientific source for the study of
urban planning, architecture and the public administration system of the early
Middle Ages.
In
addition, during excavations in the back of the palace, samples of sculptures
from the 8th century were discovered, which are currently under scientific
study.
According
to archaeologists, these findings will provide new scientific information about
the political and cultural life of the Mingtepa settlement, as well as about
the development of the region during the early Middle Ages.
