It was
attended by Acting Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of
Uzbekistan S. N. Abdurakhmonov, Executive Director of the Russian-Uzbek
Business Council F. N. Degtyarev, as well as heads of industry associations and
representatives of the business circles of the two countries.
The heads
of the delegations noted in their speeches that trade and economic cooperation
between Uzbekistan and Russia is consistently developing, and also stressed
that there are significant opportunities for further expansion of business
ties.
It was
noted that by the end of 2025, the mutual trade turnover between the two
countries amounted to about 13 billion US dollars. In addition, the number of
enterprises with Russian capital in Uzbekistan has exceeded 3,000.
During the
meeting, the activities of the councils, ongoing joint projects, as well as
promising areas of trade and economic cooperation and future tasks were
discussed.
The issues
of export support, development of interregional cooperation, deepening industrial
cooperation and creating favorable conditions for entrepreneurs were also
discussed.
Within the
framework of the events, opportunities for cooperation with the Leningrad,
Orenburg and Ulyanovsk regions of the Russian Federation were presented. In addition,
issues related to the development of e-commerce, digital financial services,
trading through marketplaces, as well as the introduction of innovative and
digital solutions were discussed.
Following
the meeting, measures were identified to implement joint initiatives and
further develop cooperation in 2026.
