The event
was organized jointly by the Border Troops of the State Security Service, the
Department for the Development of Ecoterroriums and Hunting under the National
Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, as well as the Institute of Zoology of
the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
According
to experts, in 2025, law enforcement agencies stopped an attempt to illegally
export these birds across the state border. After the seizure, the sakers
underwent rehabilitation and were under the supervision of specialists from the
Institute of Zoology.
According
to the results of the survey, the condition of five birds was considered
satisfactory, after which they were released into their natural habitat.
The Saker
falcon is one of the rarest species of birds of prey in Central Asia, is listed
in the Red Book of Uzbekistan and is under international protection.
