Flights
will be operated four times a week using Boeing 737-800 airplane designed for
189 passengers.
The
opening of the new route will be an important event in the development of air
services between Uzbekistan and Turkiye. For the first time in history, a
direct regular air connection will be established between the cities of
Tashkent and Izmir, serving to further expand tourism, business, and cultural ties
between the two countries.
The
opening of this route is also of particular importance for Uzbekistan Airports
JSC. SunExpress is entering the aviation market of Uzbekistan for the first
time and will become the third Turkish airline to operate regular flights to
the country. In addition, the airline is considering the possibility of
launching regular flights to airports in the Fergana Valley from the beginning
of next year.
Currently,
regular flights between Uzbekistan and Turkey are operated by Turkish Airlines
and AJet. The entry of another major Turkish air carrier into the Uzbek market
confirms the growing interest of international airlines in the country's
aviation market and will serve to further expand the republic's network of
international routes.
SunExpress
is one of the leading low-cost airlines in Turkey, established in 1989 in
cooperation with Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa. The airline is based in the
cities of Antalya and Izmir and operates regular flights to more than 250
destinations in 37 countries across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and
Central Asia.
