Traveling at speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour, the new train covers the distance in just 7.5 hours, nearly doubling the efficiency of the previous 14-hour journey. The route passes through Samarkand and Bukhara, connecting these historic cities and providing significant convenience for both local citizens and foreign tourists.
This project is a practical outcome of the reforms within "Uzbekistan Railways" JSC, where efforts in digitalization, infrastructure modernization, and the procurement of modern rolling stock continue consistently.
"The reforms being implemented in the railway sector today are yielding results. New trains, digital services, and enhanced comforts—all of these serve the interests of our passengers," said Hikmatulla Rakhmetov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan, Won Do-yeon, who attended the event, highly praised the project, noting that cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea is reaching a new level. According to him, such modern transport solutions further strengthen the ties between the two nations.
The "Jaloliddin Manguberdi" train is not only an upgrade to the transport system but also a significant step toward boosting the country's economic and tourism potential.
