thousand people were affected by the disaster.
The floods
caused damage to roads, residential buildings, schools and other
infrastructure. According to the authorities, more than 11 thousand animals
died as a result of the disaster.
The
Meteorological Department of India (IMD) has warned of the possibility of new
heavy rains in Assam in the next two days.
