During the event, five citizens residing in the Andijan and Fergana regions, who intended to fly to India on the Namangan–Delhi flight, were searched.
It was established that they were trying to illegally smuggle 555 grams of gold bars and 200 grams of jewelry abroad, using their internal organs as a so‑called “living container”.
According to preliminary estimates, the total value of the seized precious metals is about 1.1 billion sums.
Currently, a pre‑investigative inquiry is being conducted into this matter.
