The parties discussed current issues regarding the expansion of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus.
They expressed satisfaction with the productive outcomes of the President of Uzbekistan’s official visit to Minsk on July 8-9, particularly in trade and economic cooperation.
The sides highlighted the need for prompt execution of the approved Action Plan to boost bilateral trade to $2 billion and support cooperation initiatives in key economic sectors.
Particular attention was paid to drawing on Belarus’s experience in developing Uzbekistan’s first nuclear power plant and its supporting infrastructure.
This includes providing expert support throughout the design, construction, and operation of the future plant, training national specialists for the industry, and launching joint programs among relevant higher education institutions.
