During the
conversation held during the ceremony, the parties exchanged views on the
prospects for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Ethiopia,
the Doone news agency reports.
The
President of Ethiopia welcomed the appointment of the Uzbek ambassador to his
country and expressed confidence in the progressive development of bilateral
relations, as well as the further expansion of practical cooperation between
the two states.
The Uzbek
Ambassador conveyed to the President of Ethiopia sincere greetings and best
wishes from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and also stressed the readiness of
the Uzbek side to expand mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
The Head of
Ethiopia expressed gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for efforts to
develop cooperation between the two countries and conveyed his best wishes to
him.
Uzbekistan
and Ethiopia established diplomatic relations on July 15, 1996.
Ashraf
Khojaev has been the Uzbek Ambassador to Qatar since February 2024. Since
October 2025, he has been accredited as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the
Republic of South Africa concurrently.
