As a result of the incident, 8 citizens of Uzbekistan who worked at a
construction enterprise in Nizhnekamsk were killed. Several other citizens were
hospitalized with varying degrees of bodily injuries.
Within the framework of the Government Commission established in accordance
with the instruction of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, measures
were taken by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Emergency Situations, Internal
Affairs, Health, the Migration Agency, and other responsible departments to
bring the bodies of the deceased back to the Homeland, provide necessary
assistance to the injured, and support their family members.
B. Asadov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan
to Russia, and N. Kosimov, the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Kazan, visited
the scene of the incident and held meetings with representatives of local
responsible agencies.
As a result of the measures taken, the bodies of the deceased citizens were
brought to Uzbekistan via a special flight on August 12.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Russian side, has
taken all issues related to this situation—including the provision of necessary
assistance to the injured citizens—under control.
