A
pre-trial investigation by the Department under the Prosecutor General’s Office
revealed that officials from Hududgaztaminot
and Texnopark LLC, alongside
other accomplices, schemed to siphon off 19 billion UZS in budget funds through embezzlement and misappropriation.
The money was allegedly siphoned under the guise of providing technical
maintenance for electronic gas meters.
That
wasn't all. Investigators also discovered that 273 gas meters—manufactured by Texnopark LLC and installed for
consumers by Hududgaztaminot—underreported actual gas usage. This discrepancy
resulted in an additional 861.1 million
UZS in financial damage to the state and public interest.
