This event
is aimed at widely promoting the unique potential of gastronomic tourism in the
Aral Sea region in the international arena, increasing the number of cultural
and entertainment events in Karakalpakstan, as well as further increasing the
number of local and foreign tourists visiting the region.
The
festival has been held on a regular basis since 2017. About 50 qualified chefs
took part in the current festival, presenting the best and rare dishes made
from fish products typical of the Aral Sea region.
Visitors
had the opportunity not only to observe the cooking process of 99 different
types of fish dishes - fried and stewed fish, popular fish soups and other
national treats, but also to taste them. At the end of the festival, an award
ceremony was held for the winners.
The
gastronomic festival "99 fish dishes of the Aral Sea" is of great
importance not only as a celebration of delicious cuisine, but also as a vivid
reflection of the resurgent nature of the Aral Sea region, the rich cultural
heritage and traditions of hospitality of the region.
