The main
events of the festival take place in the ancient city of Khiva, which has
become a center of international cultural dialogue from April 25 to 30. It is
attended by more than 300 dancers, choreographers, art historians and cultural
figures from over 30 countries around the world.
The
festival is dedicated to the art of the Khorezm dance "Lazgi", which
is characterized by expressiveness, rhythm and deep symbolism. This unique
dance is included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of
Mankind, which underlines its global value and significance.
The
festival hosts an international competition where participants compete in
various categories, from solo performances to group and staged dances. The
performances are evaluated by an authoritative international jury, which
includes leading experts in the field of choreography from different countries.
In addition
to the competition program, there is a rich cultural and scientific agenda. In
particular, an international conference is being held on the role of dance in
the development of world culture, as well as a number of creative meetings,
forums and master classes.
The opening
and closing ceremonies of the festival take place in the historical Ichan-kala
complex, which creates a special atmosphere and emphasizes the connection of
modern art with the rich historical heritage of the region.
The Lazgi
Festival is held every two years and has already become an important
international platform for strengthening cultural ties, exchanging experiences
and developing the art of dance.
