In the
first half of 2026, the republic's GDP grew by 8.5%. The most noticeable
dynamics was noted in construction - 13.7%, the service sector - 9.2% and
industry - 8.0%.
Separately,
the ADB notes an increase in investment activity. Investments in fixed assets
increased by 17.5%, including the implementation of major projects in the
energy sector, manufacturing, transportation and housing construction.
For Russian
manufacturers, the development of investment projects in Uzbekistan is of
interest from the point of view of expanding the supply of industrial and
energy equipment, electrical products, components and technological solutions.
An
additional factor is the growth of the republic's commodity imports:
In the
first half of 2026, it increased by 21% to $25.1 billion.
At the same
time, the ADB raised the inflation forecast in Uzbekistan for 2026 from 6.5% to
6.7%, while maintaining the forecast for 2027 at 5.0%. High energy prices and
weakening external demand are among the factors that can affect the further
dynamics of the economy.
