As part of
the mission:
priority
directions of reforms in the field of gender-based budgeting (GOB) and ensuring
their sustainability are identified;
Issues of
coordinating existing government programs and initiatives with projects of
international development partners are being discussed.;
A practical
action plan is being developed, including priority actions, expected results,
institutional responsibility, deadlines and implementation mechanisms.;
Particular
attention is paid to identifying effective coordination mechanisms between ADB,
government agencies and development partners.
The main
goal of the project is to identify priority areas of support for the ongoing
reforms in Uzbekistan in the field of gender-based budgeting and public finance
management, as well as to coordinate the scope of technical assistance.
The seminar
discussed priority areas for the pilot implementation of GOB, including in the
fields of higher education, employment, agriculture, transport, construction
and water management.
This
mission is aimed at systematically taking into account gender aspects in the
formation of the state budget of Uzbekistan, increasing the social efficiency
of budget funds, as well as supporting reforms in the field of public finance
management based on international experience.
