At the same time, the number of bookings has increased, indicating that users are shifting their interest to real trip planning.

Expedia Group is one of the world's largest players in the field of online travel and one of the most authoritative sources of data on international tourism demand. The platform unites brands such as Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo, Travelocity, Orbitz, CheapTickets, Hotwire and a number of others.

Expedia Group's platforms are used annually by more than 300 million travelers worldwide. By the end of 2025, the gross volume of bookings (gross bookings) through the company's platforms exceeded 100 billion US dollars, and the annual volume of bookings includes more than 400 million booked nights of accommodation.

The company cooperates with more than 3 million accommodation facilities, as well as airlines, tour operators and other travel service providers in more than 70 countries around the world.

The increase in demand has also affected key booking indicators. In June, the number of travelers who booked trips to Uzbekistan through Expedia Group increased by 45.6% year-on-year. The number of air tickets purchased increased by 23%, the number of nights booked increased by 27%, and the total volume of bookings increased by 46.1%, exceeding 2 million US dollars.

Among users of Expedia Group platforms, the main foreign markets for Uzbekistan remain the USA, Japan, Great Britain, the Republic of Korea, Germany and France. The highest growth rates of demand were recorded in the USA and Japan, while the UK, Germany and France are the leaders among European countries.

Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara remain the leaders among the most popular destinations in the country. At the same time, interest in Khiva is also growing: over the past year, the city's share in the total volume of bookings has increased significantly, which indicates its growing popularity among international travelers.

Data on pre-bookings also indicate continued high demand in the coming months. According to Expedia Group, 82.9% of all confirmed bookings are for trips scheduled for the period from July to September 2026, that is, on the eve of the high tourist season in Uzbekistan.

The growing interest in Uzbekistan is observed against the background of the expansion of international flights, simplification of visa procedures in recent years and the intensification of the country's promotion in foreign tourist markets.
