During the
meeting, issues of expanding cooperation in the field of cultural tourism,
management of cultural heritage sites, gastronomy, hotel business, branding of
tourist routes, as well as creative tourism were discussed.
In
addition, the parties exchanged views on attracting Italian hotel and
restaurant brands to Uzbekistan, and also considered the possibility of
organizing regular flights of Italian airlines to Uzbekistan.
Issues of
developing strategies for tourism development in Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya regions
and the Fergana Valley, planning modern tourism infrastructure projects with
the assistance of Italian consulting companies, as well as effective
development of the tourism potential of the regions were also considered.
The parties
noted that, given the steady growth in the number of tourists arriving in
Uzbekistan from Italy, the training and advanced training of guides who speak
Italian is of particular importance. Following the meeting, an agreement was
reached on further cooperation in this area.
For
reference: the interest of the Italian tourism market in Uzbekistan continues
to grow. In January-May 2026, about 18,000 tourists from Italy visited
Uzbekistan.
