The share of "green" energy is growing: production of solar and wind power plants increased by 22.9% in June

In June of this year, Uzbekistan's large solar and wind power plants produced a total of 1 billion 293.7 million kWh of electricity. This figure is 241.2 million kWh, or 22.9% higher than the output for the same period last year.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.

In particular, solar photovoltaic plants (PV plants) generated 1 billion 48 million kWh, and wind power plants (wind farms) - 245.7 million kWh of electricity.

Thanks to this, it was possible:

save 344 million cubic meters of natural gas;

to prevent the release of 743 thousand tons of harmful substances into the atmosphere.

For comparison, in June 2025, the volume of electricity generated by solar and wind power plants amounted to 1 billion 52 million kWh.

The volume of "green" electricity produced in June corresponds on average to the monthly consumption of 6.5 million households or the annual consumption of 541 thousand households.
