During the
meeting, it was particularly noted that friendly and mutually beneficial
relations between Uzbekistan and France are developing steadily on the basis of
the political will and goodwill of the Presidents of the two countries.
It was
emphasized that these relations yield practical results in all areas,
particularly in the energy sector. It was noted that cooperation between the
two countries in the energy sector is developing consistently and dynamically.
The active participation of French companies in the implementation of the first
major projects in the field of renewable energy sources in Uzbekistan was also
highlighted.
In
particular, in cooperation with the French company TotalEnergies, a 100 MW
solar photovoltaic power plant was commissioned in the Samarkand Region; in
cooperation with the company Voltalia, a 100 MW solar photovoltaic power
plant was commissioned in the Khorezm Region; and in cooperation with the
company EDF, a thermal power plant with a capacity of 1,573 MW was
commissioned in the Syrdarya Region.
During the
negotiations, the status and prospects for implementing projects involving
French companies in Uzbekistan in the areas of traditional and green energy, as
well as the oil and gas industry, were discussed. Special attention was paid to
accelerating the implementation of existing initiatives and identifying new
areas of cooperation.
Following
the meeting, the parties agreed to consistently advance joint projects,
strengthen existing cooperation, and further expand mutually beneficial
cooperation in the energy sector.
