The meeting, which was held via videoconference, was attended by representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee.
According to the press service of the CIS Executive Committee, the participants of the meeting finalized the draft Regulations. It was decided to consider the document agreed at the expert level. It will be submitted to the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States for consideration in accordance with the established procedure.
It is noted that the study of the issue of the basic organization is carried out in pursuance of the Strategy for the Development of cooperation of the CIS member states in the field of tourism for 2021-2030. It is planned that the International University of Tourism "Silk Road" (Samarkand) will receive this status.
The solution of this issue will significantly expand the possibilities of the CIS Tourism Council for the development of cooperation in improving the education system, educational, methodological and expert-analytical support of the tourism industry.
In addition, the emergence of a basic organization in the field of tourism will ensure effective cooperation of the Commonwealth countries in the field of training and retraining, which has become particularly important during the digital transformation of industries and is aimed at solving not only economic but also social problems, including overcoming the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in the CIS states.
