According to a bulletin from the Italian Ministry of
Health, two additional cities have been added to the 25 that were previously
placed under the highest warning level, bringing all major cities in the
country into the red zone.
Synoptic forecasts indicate that air temperatures in
some regions will reach up to 40°C. The heatwave is expected to persist for at least another week.
The Ministry of Health stated that the red alert
signifies prolonged extreme heat that poses a serious health risk to the entire
population.
According to the ministry's explanation, this warning
applies not only to the elderly, children, and individuals with chronic
illnesses, but also to healthy citizens.
Italy is currently experiencing its fourth heatwave of
the year. Previous periods of intense heat have resulted in
fatalities caused by high temperatures across the country, Kazinform reported.
Experts emphasize that elevated temperatures
negatively impact daily life, threaten public health, and increase the risk of
wildfires in various regions.
Previously, Seoul also issued its highest-ever heat
warning due to intense weather conditions.
