Today at 04:20 local time, an Airbus A320 aircraft of
the airline arrived from Tashkent to Karachi. Traditionally, the aircraft was
solemnly greeted at Karachi Airport with a water arch, according to the Dunyo
news agency.
Representatives of the leadership of Sindh province
and local authorities, the diplomatic corps accredited in Karachi, the Sindh
Tourism Development Corporation, airlines, tour operators, and the media took
part in the solemn welcome ceremony.
Representatives of the Sindh provincial government who
spoke at the event noted that the launch of the new flight is another practical
step by Uzbekistan aimed at further bringing the two fraternal peoples closer
together, increasing the tourist flow, and supporting business and diplomatic
ties.
As part of the event, a press conference was also held
at Karachi International Airport, with the participation of representatives of
the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the management of Centrum Air.
Thus, the number of direct flights between Uzbekistan
and Pakistan has increased to 8 per week.
