A particularly significant result was the indicator of human capital: Tashkent ranked 108th in the world. In 2024, the city was on the 136th position, and in 2025 - on the 123rd. Thus, over the three issues of the rating, the capital has demonstrated steady positive dynamics in terms of the indicator reflecting the knowledge, skills and professional potential of the population.

This is not the only international study that highlights the dynamics of Tashkent's development. According to a study by the Boston Consulting Group Built to Change: How Cities Compete for the Future, conducted in 2025 and published on May 21, 2026, Tashkent ranked third among 80 cities in the world in terms of speed of change, second only to Shenzhen and Riyadh. At the same time, the capital took the first place in terms of the rate of changes in economic activity.

BCG assessed not only the current state of the cities, but also the speed of their development, adaptation and improvement of conditions for residents. The study covers more than 200 indicators and takes into account the results of a survey of 24,000 residents of cities around the world.

Behind these indicators are people who contribute daily to the development of the capital: teachers and doctors, engineers and entrepreneurs, specialists of city services, students and young professionals. It is their knowledge, initiative and hard work that contribute to the further development of Tashkent.

These results became possible thanks to the transformations initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the attention of the Presidential Administration to the development of the capital, the coordinated work of city and district teams, the efforts of business and the active participation of residents.

International analysts have also included Tashkent in the list of Cities to Watch, cities whose development is recommended to be monitored. The capital's khokimiyat notes that this is a recognition of joint efforts to develop the city.

At the same time, high positions in international rankings are important primarily when the changes taking place affect the daily lives of citizens. The capital will continue to work on the quality of the urban environment, clean air and comfort of each district. Economic growth should create new opportunities for residents to receive education, work, develop their own businesses and raise children in Tashkent.

"We are proud of what we have already achieved together. And we know for whom we must continue to work - for the sake of the residents of Tashkent," the capital's khokimiyat noted.
