Within the
framework of the forum, two cooperation agreements were reached with Chinese
partners.
The first
agreement was signed by Erkin Mukhitdinov, Director of the Forest Agency, and
Wu Xiaorui, Head of the Forestry and Steppe Management Department of the
Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of China. The document provides for the
implementation of joint projects on the expansion of landscaping, the creation
of protective forest plantations, the organization of modern nurseries and
royal plantations, the development of sustainable forestry and the green
industry.
In
addition, the parties agreed to cooperate in the field of rational use of water
resources, restoration of degraded lands, prevention of soil salinization and
gradual strengthening of ecosystems. Special attention will be paid to the systematic
implementation of projects, the involvement of specialized specialists and the
effective use of financing opportunities.
The second
agreement was signed between Erkin Mukhitdinov, Director of the Forest Agency,
and Chen Lin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese company
Yinchuan Wolsenn Modern Irrigation Co., Ltd. The document provides for the
supply of water-saving irrigation technologies to Uzbekistan (a demonstration
fertigation system), as well as the organization of training for local
specialists in their application.
The
introduction of modern technologies will improve the effectiveness of measures
to create forests and combat desertification.
Fertigation
is a technology of simultaneous supply of irrigation water and mineral fertilizers
directly to the root system of plants through a single system. This method is
usually used in conjunction with drip irrigation. It allows you to reduce
fertilizer consumption by 20-50%, automate the processes of irrigation and
fertilization, and reduce labor costs.
According
to experts, in 2025, the Forest Agency, together with Chinese partners,
implemented a number of projects to create halophyte plant nurseries in
Arnasai, Karmaninsky, Mubarek, Karakul and Nukus districts. 1.4 thousand tons
of halophyte seeds were imported to Uzbekistan, on the basis of which work on
the cultivation of seedlings has already begun.
In
addition, pistachio plantations on an area of 5,000 hectares are being created
in the Surkhandarya region in cooperation with the Chinese company Sinoway
Forest as part of the project "Development of carbon-absorbing forestry
and ecosystem restoration".
