During the
research, an image of tulips and white flowers painted on clay plaster was
found on the western wall of one of the building's rooms. The flowers are
combined with thin, wavy red lines. The mural was later covered with a layer of
white lime plaster.
The grand
and thick walls of the building, as well as its decorations, indicate that this
structure may have functioned as a temple in the 4th–5th centuries AD.
According to
experts, future excavations and research will make it possible to further
determine the original function, architectural structure, and historical
significance of the building.
Archaeological
research is being conducted by Sandjar Abdurakhimov, a staff member of the
Samarkand Institute of Archaeology.
