During the
event, issues of expanding tourism ties between Uzbekistan and China, the
development of joint tourist routes, as well as the implementation of new
investment projects in the industry were discussed.
The forum
was attended by a delegation led by Chairman of the Committee on Tourism of the
Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Akkulov, as well as more than 40 leading
travel companies, representatives of tourist and recreational areas, tourist
complexes and air carriers.
It is noted
that the inclusion of tourism among the key areas of the forum highlights the
strategic importance of the industry in bilateral cooperation.
In his
speech, the head of the Uzbek delegation proposed expanding tourist routes for
Chinese tourists, considering the possibility of opening mid- and high-end
hotels with Chinese brands, as well as developing resort areas, sanatoriums,
and family and outdoor recreation facilities. Initiatives have also been put
forward to create theme parks, promote business tourism (MICE) and attract
major international events.
The forum
presented the tourism opportunities of the regions of Uzbekistan, including the
historical and cultural heritage of Bukhara, the ecotourism potential of
Kashkadarya region, the importance of Samarkand in world civilization, as well
as the modern tourism opportunities of Tashkent and the Tashkent region.
The
participants were also presented with the tourist complexes "Miraki",
"Arda Khiva", ecotourism in the Aydarkul area and the ski resort
Amirsoy Mountain Resort.
At the end
of the forum, B2B meetings were held with the participation of more than 200
representatives of the tourism industry of the two countries, aimed at
expanding cooperation, increasing the tourist flow and promoting the investment
potential of Uzbekistan.
