First of all, this practice will be introduced in the areas of undergraduate universities, where a foreign language is a core subject, namely:
• Uzbek State University of World Languages (UZGUMYA);
• Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages (SamGIIA);
• Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
• Also in the training of teachers of foreign languages in the following universities:
• Tashkent State Pedagogical University named afterNizami;
• Kokand State Pedagogical Institute named after Mukimiy;
• Nukus State Pedagogical Institute named after Ajiniyaza.
Along with this, from March 1, 2022, advanced training courses for foreign language teachers will be organized, aimed at developing listening, reading, writing and speaking skills, as well as obtaining a certificate.
Also, foreign language textbooks developed for schools based on modern language teaching methods will be published.
In the future, starting from the 2024/2025 academic year, a foreign language will gradually be included in the list of compulsory subjects for entrance exams in all universities of the country.
On September 1, 2022, the process of certification of teachers of foreign languages in preschool, general education, secondary specialized and professional, as well as preschool educational institutions is planned by the State Inspectorate for Supervision of the Quality of Education.
Also, from February 1, 2022, teachers of the Russian language who have an internationally recognized certificate of the national level C1 will be paid a surcharge for two years from the date of receipt of the certificate.
Knowledge of foreign languages will be a mandatory criterion for admission to universities in Uzbekistan
In Uzbekistan, when admitting to a number of universities, professional (creative exams) will be conducted for applicants' knowledge of foreign languages. This measure is provided for by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 19 "On additional measures to improve the study of foreign languages".
