During the
meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of cooperation in the transport
sector, including the introduction of modern digital solutions, the development
of sustainable and efficient transport corridors, as well as strengthening
interagency coordination.
Speaking at
the meeting, Ilkhom Makhkamov noted that the global logistics system is
undergoing a profound transformation: traditional routes are being reviewed,
and the importance of Central Asia is rapidly increasing. In this context, he
stressed that Uzbekistan is implementing a long-term strategy to turn the
country into an important land bridge connecting East and West, North and
South.
Special
attention was paid to the development of transport infrastructure and digitalization
of logistics processes. In particular, the importance of the initiative to
create a single digital platform for managing international multimodal cargo
transportation was noted.
Separately,
the minister dwelled on the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project,
emphasizing its strategic role not only for the three countries, but also for
expanding the transport network in the SCO space. It is expected that the
implementation of the project will significantly reduce routes from East Asia
to Europe and the Persian Gulf countries.
Speaking
about digitalization, I. Makhkamov highlighted the introduction of the E-Permit
system, the development of electronic document management and the formation of
a single digital space. These measures are aimed at speeding up transport
processes, reducing costs for businesses and removing barriers at borders.
Following
the meeting, the participants confirmed their readiness to further strengthen
cooperation. The minutes of the meeting, the memorandum of understanding on the
digitalization of permits for international road transport were signed, and the
regulations on the establishment of a special working group on the development
of transport cooperation were approved.
