Hunting of rare wildlife banned from August 1

According to the resolution, from August 1, 2026, to January 1, 2028, hunting of rare and endangered wild animals in Uzbekistan is prohibited in accordance with Appendix 1. This restriction does not apply to hunting wild animals kept and (or) bred in farms, nurseries, incubators, fish nurseries, and pond economies, nor does it apply to hunting for scientific and medical purposes.

Additionally, when forming and distributing quotas for capturing wild animals, the allocation of quotas for species of rare and endangered wild animals subject to hunting bans is not permitted.

This resolution serves to ensure the implementation of Decree No. PD-16 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 30, 2025, "On the State Program for the Implementation of the 'Uzbekistan — 2030' Strategy in the 'Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy,'" as well as to strengthen measures to compensate for wildlife losses and ensure ecosystem stability.
